ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF…

Hi there, my name is Carrie Le Grice (she/her) and I’m a qualified wedding celebrant. I live in sunny Hastings, but I’m very happy to travel for a good time! That’s the basic facts, but lets get into the real tea.

I’ve worked my whole adult life in Communications, trying to make things like employee benefits sound as exciting as the line up for Celebrity traitors. An impossible task you might say! And you’d be absolutely right.

I love writing and creating, but the corporate stuff was getting old. I needed a new creative outlet. One that embraced the joy I get from talking to people, finding out about their lives and loves, and sharing that with others. But what job could do that? It was a real conundrum.

Until the hand of fate (or the Instagram algorithm, whatever) stepped in and showed me the light. I should train as a celebrant! It seemed so obvious, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t realised sooner.

Just a few things that made it the perfect fit are that I:

  • Love writing

  • Love being nosey and digging into people's lives

  • Love planning stuff so people have a great time

  • Love organising (let me tell you, I can organise the shit out of anything)

Plus I also happened to have the inside scoop on what a celebrant led wedding was all about, because I had one when I got married and LOVED it! It was so special and fun, and our celebrant was awesome. So I was pretty confident I’d love it from the other side of things too.

Now skip to the end - the training is done, I’m qualified, and I do in fact bloody love being a celebrant. It’s so fun to work with people who are cool, and weird, and know their own minds, to help them create a ceremony that they, and their people, will never forget.

Let's get personal

Let's get personal

  • I live in Hastings with my husband & our four year old son. Me and my husband have been together for so long (26 years!) it’s like we share one brain.

  • I hear song lyrics in everything and have a habit of bursting into song at random times. Now I think about it, I do the same with film quotes. Apologies in advance.

  • If I’m not having to fully focus on something, I’ll be listening to a podcast. My favourites are Off Menu (despite me having very little interest in food) and How Did This Get Made (who I credit with my love of the Fast & Furious franchise)

  • In the last four years I’ve read over 200 books. Brag! If you’re a fellow avid reader feel free to friend me on Goodreads.

  • I LOVE beer! If you’re a drinker and you book me for your wedding, I will 100% attempt to make all our meet ups happen in craft beer pubs.
